André Rieu is coming to Toronto, the world-renowned Dutch violinist and conductor, has captivated audiences worldwide with his spellbinding performances and compelling stage presence. Rieu, who was born in Maastricht, Netherlands, on October 1, 1949, had an early love in music and went on to become one of the most successful classical crossover performers of all time.
When Rieu was five years old, he took up a violin and began his musical journey. His parents enrolled him in violin lessons, recognising his great aptitude and laying the framework for his extraordinary career. Rieu studied violin at Belgium's Conservatoire Royal de Liège, where he was coached by renowned violinist André Gertler.
